A contemporary wood burning stove is designed to burn logs while featuring modern styling, such as clean lines, simple detailing, large viewing windows or sculptural shapes. Many combine modern aesthetics with updated combustion technology. Features and performance vary by model.

The main difference is usually the design. Modern stoves often favour minimalist styling, streamlined shapes and expansive glass, while traditional models tend to draw on classic stove forms and heritage-inspired details. Both can offer effective heating, so compare the specifications of individual appliances as well as their appearance.

Some models may be suitable for open-plan spaces, but the right choice depends on the room's size, layout, insulation and heating requirements. Consider how heat will travel through the space and seek advice on the appropriate heat output before choosing your stove.

The appropriate output depends on factors such as room dimensions, insulation, ceiling height and the layout of your home. A stove with too much output may make a room uncomfortably warm, while one with too little may not meet your heating needs. Our team can help you understand the factors involved.

In many cases, a suitable stove can be installed within an existing fireplace, but this depends on the opening dimensions, chimney or flue condition, clearances and the requirements of the chosen appliance. A professional assessment will help establish the options for your property.

We offer supply-only and full-installation options. The most suitable route depends on your property and the work required. Speak to our team about your plans so we can discuss the available arrangements.

Some stoves are approved or exempt for use with specified fuels in smoke control areas, subject to the applicable rules. Requirements vary, so check the current regulations for your area and the manufacturer's documentation before purchasing or using a stove.
